1. I have a secret desire to be a lefty.
2. I hated my name as a kid. No one could say or spell it. As I grew up, I realized that having a unique name had some advantages – making a good impression usually meant that people would remember my name, versus having a common name.
3. Sleep is my escape.
4. I love rain; lightning and rainbows are just icing on the cake.
5. People make fun of my anal-retentiveness and organization skills UNTIL they are in need and realize just what I can do.
6. I was born with blue eyes (like my mom’s), but they changed to green (like my dad’s) in junior high.
7. I am definitely a dog person, which is kind of weird because I was terrified of them as a kid. Being allergic to cats is bonus – I can’t stand cats!
8. My favorite color is purple (thanks to my junior high teacher Mrs. Peters). I also wear brown entirely too much.
9. I have 8 piercings, all on my ears.
10. I’ve travelled to 6 countries. My shortest stay was 3 weeks in Costa Rica and my longest stay was just over 3 months in South Africa (both in 2009).
11. And though I love to travel, there is NOTHING like coming home.
12. Before they were popular, butterflies were and are my favorite. Their beauty astounds me and, even though they are incredibly fragile, they survive in this crazy world.

17. I graduated 2nd in my university class at the University of Winnipeg.
18. I have donated my hair twice to an organization that makes wigs for people battling cancer.

25. My one indulgence – ok, my biggest indulgence of many – is long, hot showers. But who can blame me after all my travelling adventures?!?
26. Ok, I’ll admit it, I cry through half the Olympics (at least). I can’t even make it through “O Canada” without a few tears rolling down my face. And let’s not talk about certain commercials or movies.
27. I don’t prefer hot beverages. I will drink tea sometimes or grab a cup hot chocolate if I’m cold, but I hate the smell of coffee and, so I don’t drink it at all.
28. Africa has a treasured part of my heart.
29. I play the piano and flute and am learning to play guitar.

40. Normally after travelling I come back craving something. After Austria, I craved peanut butter. After Turkey, I craved ham (ha, ha, I know – turkey, ham – they don’t have ham because Turkey is Muslim). After my YWAM travels I didn’t crave anything and, even worse, I have eaten my lifetime fill of rice and politely decline it currently.
41. I'm on the Canadian Blood Services “Cannot Donate Blood” list. I finally got the courage to donate (it was a gift for my friend Carmen, and it just so turns out that we are both B+) but on my 3rd time, I fainted. I considered it an anomaly and tried yet again, only to almost faint on my 4th try and was promptly placed on the “Don't Ever Let Her Donate Again” list!
42. I need space. . .solitude. . .silence.
43. I have never been kissed.
44. I have travelled back in time without even knowing it (“What do you mean it’s December 12th? I left on December 13th.” “Yes, but you crossed the International Date Line.”)!
45. I finally got the chicken pox in grade 8.
46. I LOVE IKEA! I could spend the entire day there (they serve a pretty good dish of Swedish meatballs for lunch). In all sincerity, I plan vacations to places where I know there’s an IKEA.
47. I have been a bridesmaid 2 times. And let’s not even discuss going there a 3rd time.
48. I am definitely independent. And a perfectionist.
49. It’s awesome to hit the open road and crank up the tunes on a perfect day with the sun shining down on me.
50. My favorite toy growing up was my Cabbage Patch Kid, with my Barbies a close 2nd, followed by My Little Ponies.
51. I am an indoors person and I’m fine with that.
52. I’m not sure how long I’ve had this affliction, or maybe my fellow YWAMers were just making it up, but apparently I do this eye flutter thing. I don’t know what that means or what it is!
53. My dad started building our house (which my parents still live in) on the day I was born.
54. One of the best inventions and my favorite tools is my label-maker. Did I mention that I’m a neat freak?
55. I am a country girl at heart. Town and city are convenient and always have exciting events happening, but I belong in a wide-open space.
56. I am the oldest child and the only daughter, with 2 younger brothers.
57. By pure accident, my parents gave me the same 3 initials as my dad (my mom is pretty close, but she doesn’t have a middle name). Not to leave my brothers out, they also have the same initials.
58. The fight for social injustice stirs within my heart and I am compelled to do something about it.
59. I see things in terms of black & white, not shades of gray. Sometimes that’s good; sometimes that gets me into a lot of trouble.
60. Thursday is my favorite day of the week (but ER might have something to do with that!).

65. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I can’t smell. When I do get a whiff of something, it’s usually nauseating (maybe this is the reason I don’t like coffee!).
66. I love nice things, but I’m also a huge bargain hunter and want the best price possible.

70. Though I’ve travelled to many beautiful countries (and intend to continue the travel though the flights may be the death of me), I hope to really explore my own country. I want to take the train west to the Pacific Ocean, east to the Atlantic and north at least to Churchill!
71. I want a huge diamond engagement ring. One that, if given the situation, would sink me to the bottom of the ocean. (I’ve waited long enough, I think it’s deserved!)
72. In Austria, I slept in a cave (it’s not that much fun, trust me!). I snorkeled in Hawaii. My Costa Rican adventures included white water rafting and ziplining. And I slept through 2 earthquakes in Panama (where they apparently don’t have earthquakes).
73. I believe that the only way to really live is embrace your own truth.
74. In grade 1, I spent about 1 week in the Children’s hospital recovering from epiglottises and tracheitis.
75. I couldn’t live without cottage cheese perogies, pizza, mashed potatoes or ketchup chips.
76. “It’s all good” and “Yikes” are common phrases that come out of my mouth (and I was unaware of that fact until I lived in South Africa).
77. I can’t play it worth beans and the physics of the game makes my mind go crazy, but I LOVE watching curling.

80. By training, I am a high school math & science teacher but my work experience is quite varied. I was a strawberry we-pick supervisor for 4 years, sold Tupperware and have worked at a woman’s shelter.

90. I hate carnations – can’t stand them. On the other hand, I love roses (guess what color is the best. . .purple!), gerber daisies, calla lilies, and wild orchids.
91. My first car was a navy blue 1991 Sunbird; then I owned a burgundy 2002 Grand Prix; and now I have a white 2009 Vibe.
92. I want an intimate wedding that is a celebration of love with the people most dear to me, who make me me.
93. I am told that I have a very powerful eye roll – being a teacher has given me a lot of practice!
94. I’m pretty girly and I don’t really like to get dirty unless I’m dressed for it. And let’s not even talk about sand. . .

99. It’s cliché, but I really mean it when I say that I want to make a difference in this world, even if it’s just a small one. I also want world peace and I know that it begins with me.
